MacTruck
Author: (The late) Belá of Eastmarch (mka Poul Anderson)
Heus Abbus
Authors: Señor Alfredo el Bufón, and Malka Róanna Baznowa
Performed: Phoenix Theatre/Princess' Unbirthday (April 2, AS XXIX (1995))

One of my actors (Margrethe Astrid Ravn) had worked with her mother to get hold of this script and to gain permission from the author to produce it. We even had hopes (although a case of life came up) that the author would be at the performance. Oh well.

Sir Belá is one of the early members of the SCA, and he wrote this "way back when". We updated a few name references, and went to town. Margrethe directed this, and it went pretty well. It's an obvious take off on the Scottish Play (no need for a synopsis, really) ...

In addition, Heus Abbus came across the net, and ended up in Margrethe's mother's email. She and Vanessa did this one on their own, but I figured I would add it in, as it was performed the same evening ...

Incidents: This was Margrethe's first shot at directing. Not as easy as it looks, 'specially when you have folk like Bonefinder running around as a ghost ... no problems that I'm aware of, however.

Video Tape: Yes.

DVD: Now available on the DVD titled "Four Short Plays", contact Hirsch for details (probably $5-10, just to cover the cost of the discs, the case, etc. and any postage would need to be tacked on).

The Script: We do not have permission to post the script for MacTruck (and now that Bela has passed on, we won't be able to obtain it). Sorry!

The back of the program really didn't have much, but we did throw in a set of reviews (as it were) of You Prayed For It! (we had just done it again in December):

The Critics say about "You Prayed For It!"

"Four Stars! Boffo performances by Santiago and de Le Mans! A production of immense verve!" -- Lord Reed Rex

"Two thumbs up for You Prayed For It! Kæll of the BT - the next Melvin of Gibson! A must-see!" -- Lord Siskel of Ebert

"I laughed, I cried ..." -- Duchess Leticia de Scocia
